Photo & Video Policy

PEOPLE WE PHOTOGRAPH

By entering the Out of Africa Wildlife Park, you might be photographed, videotaped, or filmed by Out of Africa Wildlife Park. Your admission to the park serves as permission for use of your image for promotional purposes by Out of Africa Wildlife Park, business partnerships, and its constituents. Each guest individually and on behalf of his/her minor children further waives any right to pre-approval, royalties, or other compensation arising from or rebated to the use of imagery.

NON-COMMERCIAL:

Out of Africa encourages visitors to take personal photos or still photographs while enjoying their park visit. All images and video taken by guests and patrons are allowed free of charge, provided the images are used only for personal, noncommercial use. Video and photos must be taken from the general public viewing area or within the boundaries as it relates to special programs, tours, engagements, etc. and must be a minimum distraction to our guests, staff, and animals. Out of Africa Wildlife Park reserves the right to withhold or withdraw consent to photograph and video or to reproduce photographs or video of Out of Africa and related property, to include park exhibits, animals, buildings or otherwise defined.

The commercial use of photographs, video, and film you take during your visit, future or existing, is prohibited without written consent of Out of Africa Wildlife Park. Commercial use is defined as use for commercial profit, for publicity, or for any other purpose that commercially or publicly exploits the photos and videos. If you are interested in filming or taking photographs for commercial use, please review and fill out a Commercial/Broadcast Application form. Mail your completed application to:

Existing Images:

Out of Africa recognizes the desire by photographers of varying skill levels to use the park environment and its inhabitants for commercial purposes. This policy is designed to uniformly address the needs for all levels of photographers in contrast to a flat rate that only professional photographers would be able to afford. Therefore, if you have taken an image at Out of Africa Wildlife Park while visiting that you would like to use commercially, you must download and complete the Use Existing Photo application and mail the signed agreement to: Out of Africa Wildlife Park, Public Relations department, 4020 N. Cherry Rd., Camp Verde, AZ  86322. Out of Africa Wildlife Park will countersign and return a copy of the agreement to you at the mailing address provided. Upon receipt of this signed agreement, you may market and sell the image as defined by the terms and conditions of said agreement. Out of Africa Wildlife Park reserves the right to refuse permission for images not determined to be in the best interest of Out of Africa Wildlife Park.

All trademarks, service marks, logos, images, and facilities of the Out of Africa Wildlife Park are the sole property of Out of Africa Wildlife Park and may not be used, reproduced, displayed or distributed without written consent of the Out of Africa Wildlife Park.

COMMERCIAL AND SITE FEES:

With its diverse range of exotic and endangered animals, unobstructed viewing platforms, and a natural landscape with the look and feel of the Serengeti, Out of Africa Wildlife Park provides an unbeatable outdoor backdrop for video/film productions and still photography and print, television, online media, or commercial production, as long as the production reflects the basis of our mission. Unless the work is directly promoting Out of Africa Wildlife Park, commercial fees shall apply.

Fee Guidelines:

Commercial fees are determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the nature and purpose of the project, its intended market, its potential promotional value to the park, time of day, time of year, displacement of other revenue-generating events, disruption to exhibits and guests, access to behind-the-scene areas, the impact of the production among staff and animal care, length of the stay, the extent to which the park is required to support the project, and the extent to which the rights of the final product are shared with the park.

Video/Film:

  • $500.00 for first 2 hours, 2-hour minimum
  • $200.00 for each additional hour
  • $1,500.00 per day (8 hours)

Still Photos:

  • $400.00 for first 2 hours, 2-hour minimum
  • $175.00 for each additional hour
  • $1,250.00 per day (8 hours)

Additional fees may also apply as follows:

  • $75 per hour for any additional park staff other than public relations personnel

Fees must be submitted 2 working days prior to the scheduled day of activity. Cash, cashier’s check, or money order are the accepted methods of payment; all others will not be acceptable unless discussed with a member of the Public Relations department.

Out of Africa Wildlife Park reserves the right to deny any request or cancel any shoot at any time if it is not in the best interest of the park’s animals or visitors or is contrary to the park’s mission. Furthermore, Out of Africa Wildlife Park requests script approval where applicable before a shoot can begin.
