Hi guys, I’m Brittney!
I’m the Large Carnivore Manager at Out of Africa! I grew up in Alaska, where my passion for wildlife and nature began. I pursued higher education at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, gaining a solid foundation in animal sciences. Later, I specialized in Exotic Animal Training and Management through Moorpark College in Moorpark, California, which provided me with hands-on experience and specialized knowledge.
Among all animals, tigers hold a special place in my heart as my favorite, with snow leopards being a close second. I am constantly driven by a desire to learn new things about animal care, from enrichment activities to veterinary care and animal training techniques. This ongoing quest for knowledge ensures that I can provide the best care possible for the animals I manage.
Keeper Questions
-
Have you traveled the world to see animals in the wild?
I have been able to travel – just a little bit! I grew up in Alaska, and saw a LOT of animals there! Just recently I went to Nepal and went looking for snow leopards. We didn’t find any, but we saw their tracks!
-
What's a fun fact about tigers?
Tigers are known as gorging eaters. That means that they don’t eat every day. At the park we feed them three days a week and in the wild they wouldn’t even eat that often!
-
How do wildlife parks and zoos help with conservation efforts?
Wildlife parks are really important because we can educate people, and when people come to our park, they fall in love with our tigers! This encourages them to become curious and learn more!
-
Do you have a favorite animal?
All the animals are my favorite. I don’t have any favorites…

Submit your questions!
If you love animals and have a question – ask! We would love to answer your questions about our animal friends and what it’s like to be a Keeper!
If you are a classroom, we would love to hear from you! Please submit your questions all on one form (attach below). List your teacher’s name, the school, the class and the town. Limit your questions to no more than TEN, and try to only ask about one animal or area of the park. IE: Mr. Smith’s 3rd Grade Class from Harrison Elementary in Denver Colorado, asking about lizards, or Jericho the Rhino, etc. We will let you know if your class is selected, and answer all your questions, in a special Keeper Korner!
